Arctic Zero Review
I am always on the look out for some healthier options when it comes to satisfying my cravings for sweets, chocolate in particular! I heard some great things about the Arctic Zero “ice cream” recently and was on a mission to give it a try for myself and see if it might be something that I could work into my list of snacks.
At the time, this stuff was rather hard to find in a local retail grocery store. Though it was available online, I have never once considered buying something like ice cream online, especially in the middle of the summer. How the heck would that get delivered? Perhaps by the ice cream truck?
I was delighted to discover that Walmart started carrying this product, so on a recent trip to Wally-World; I picked up a couple of pints. They had three to choose from, but I went with the Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors. Vanilla was the other option, but I passed on it.

Nutrition Facts
Here is an image that I pulled from the arcticzero.com website for the pint-sized Chocolate flavor. As you can see from the image this stuff isn’t very dense in calories, or anything else for that matter. You can literally scarf down the entire pint and still be less than 150 calories! Though you should know – that pint still contains 28 grams of carbs and 20 grams of sugar.
This is where learning How To Read a Nutrition Label comes in handy. Even with a “healthy” product like this, the marketing folks try to sucker you into thinking that you are eating something that is better for you than it actually is.
Eating a single serving of any food item, as it is detailed on the label, is going to be tough for most people, not just when it comes to ice cream. We overindulge in several areas, which is why there is an obesity epidemic in our country right now.
That being said, this certainly won’t completely ruin your nutrition for the day if you can’t stop with just one serving.
Alternatives
Above I mentioned how I can make my own ice cream and get some additional nutrients and protein for much cheaper and in greater quantities. Here is a recipe that I have used numerous times in the past and it takes less than 10 minute to prepare. This concoction offers 240 calories – 41 grams of protein, 21 grams of carbs (6 grams of sugar)!
Summary
The lineup for Arctic Zero ice cream may be a great option and allow you to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings that hit you from time to time. While not the cheapest snack that you can buy, if you don’t have the resources to make your own like I have detailed above, it does offer a guilt-free alternative to regular ice cream. So if you are out and about at your local grocery store, stop by the freezer isle and see if they have some Arctic Zero and pick up a pint to give it a try. You may find it to your liking and if it fits in your budget and daily nutrition – go for it!
