Attention Beasts – The Body Beast Mobile App Is Here
Are you on the road a lot or simply workout at the gym where bringing along your DVD player or laptop isn’t desirable, but still want to BRING IT with the Body Beast program? Now you are in luck! A new Body Beast Mobile App is available for all to enjoy from your favorite mobile device!
What’s with the Body Beast Mobile App – how do I install it?
The first question or mis-conception about the new Body Beast Mobile App is that is is actually an app. It really isn’t an installed app at all. It is simply a mobile enhanced website. What does this mean? It just means that Beachbody has considered that this website would typically be accessed from a mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc…) and instead of creating a platform specific (iPhone, Droid, Microsoft) app, they built a website that works on all devices with a modern web browser. So, long story short, there is NO actually app to install, don’t look for it on the iTunes store or the Google Play store, you won’t find it.
Enough about the techy stuff…
- A sneak-peek at what’s included:
- Pictures and descriptions of every move.
- Workout tracker that keeps a tab on your measurements and overall progress.
- Calorie calculator based on your individual goals.
- Delicious recipes.
- FAQs
- Workout history, and more.
How can I access the Body Beast Mobile App?
Here is a link to the website; http://bodybeastmobile.teambeachbody.com/bodybeast. You should be able to access the site using your TeamBeachbody.com account details.
- NOTE: All past customers and new customers will receive an email with access info and a randomized password.
HELP – I forgot my username and password for the Body Beast Mobile App
- Navigate to TeamBeachbody.com
- Click the “Sign In” link in the upper right-hand corner
- Click the “Forgot your password?” link
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
The first time your go to the site, you’ll need to provide the app with some detail about yourself. This information is necessary for the app to offer your the correct guidance with the nutritional side of the program.
- Gender
- Weight
- Body Fat %
You will also need to indicate the training schedule that you plan to utilize while going through the Body Beast program. There are two schedules, HUGE and LEAN. As a hard-gainer, I have always stuck to the HUGE schedule with great success. The one thing that I didn’t not like, hopefully will be added soon, is the ability to indicate if you had already started the program prior to accessing this site. It assumes that you are starting Day #1…uh, I’m on day 25 already, so I have basically go through each day and just hit the “FINISH” button. But at the time of this writing, that wasn’t working?
You’ll notice from the screen shots above, you are provided with the details of the equipment needed for each routine as well as the breakdown of the routine itself by set/exercise. I would like to think that tracking of reps and weight will be added soon as well, it seems like there is some functionality missing in this early release, but it is looking very promising for tracking your routines with Body Beast through the app!
What about Nutrition with the Body Beast Mobile App?
Nutrition, of course, like any other Beachbody program is important to your success and Body Beast is no different. So it was awesome to see that Beachbody has provided a TON of information through this mobile app that is specific to the Body Beast nutrition guidelines. Tapping on the Food tab along the bottom, you are provided with 3 options; Supplements, Recipes and Food Chart. You will also notice that it provides you with your caloric goal for the day based on the info you provided during the initial setup. Once would assume that this number would change as you enter your progress and change phases.
The Supplements option simply provides your with a high-level overview of all of the Beachbody Performance Supplements, which one would assume at some point would be links to purchase these products directly from Beachbody.
- Beachbody Performance Energize
- Beachbody Performance Hydrate
- Beachbody Performance Recover
- Beachbody Performance Recharge
- Beachbody Performance Creatine
The Recipes option provide you access to most, if not all of the recipes that can be found in the Book of Beast program guide. This is quite handy as paging through the physical book can be a bit tedious when jumping from Snack to Lunch and Dinner. All of the recipes are broken down in the same basic way they are in the program guide, by meal type (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack)
The FoodChart option allows you to choose a particular category of food and then offers numerous options to choose from in that category. Again, straight from the program guide, but also very handy for on the go choices, if you tend to forget your lunch or are simply wanting to try some new foods! Most people are familiar enough with food to know in which category they fall, but clicking on a category like “Protein”, you are given a list of options along with the One Portion equivalent for each. Again, the Body Beast Mobile App has simply taken what was already available in the program guide and made it available in a mobile format…AWESOME!
The Progress tab allows your to track your Body Measurements for a given date. All of the typical/standard measurements are available to track. To accompany this, you can also review the history of your measurements that you have entered. Again, another handy bit of information that you can take along with you.
The last option along the bottom is simple titled: More. It has a hodge-podge of FAQs and a glossary of terms that used in the Body Beast program and it’s Dynamic Set Training method. The schedule that you chose during the setup is also available here, which is handy to see at a glance, but it isn’t based on when you indicated you started the program, just a reference of the schedule itself, still nice that it was included here.
Summary
The new Body Beast Mobile App is obviously something that Beachbody is working hard to make the tracking of workouts and accessibility of the program info more available to it’s customers and fans. I think it is a great step forward and expect more fitness programs to follow suit as they are released or even for some of the other fitness programs that are already available. As a software developer, I am going to give them a few weeks to work out the kinks, but will being using it and see how well it works. I typically track with pen and paper, but this may be a viable alternative provided that they can ensure none of my data is lost. Has anyone else given the new Body Beast Mobile App a try yet, I’d love to hear your feedback on it below?

Yea I bought this program specifically for the app, thinking i could watch and learn the workouts at the gym with my phone. Wrong. I would need a portable dvd player, or sit, watch the video, try and remember it, then run to the gym and repeat. Really a waste of money to me
451styling – sorry to hear that the app didn’t meet your expectations. Was there anything in the article above that made you feel like there was more to the app, other than tracking? If so, I’d like to get that corrected.
You can always return the Body Beast program and get a full refund if that is the route you would like to pursue.
FYI: If you are club member of Team Beachbody, you can access the entire Body Beast program from the online streaming On Demand service. With On Demand there you can watch all of the workouts (those you have purchased plus more) from your device (laptop, tablet, computer).
HTH.
