Hey Team!
This month is flying by and Memorial Day is just a week away! Whose got big plans for the holiday weekend? Our community pool opens up this coming weekend. However, I don’t think that I’ll be doing anything more that sticking my toe in the water; it will likely be FREEZING! The weather hasn’t been quite warm enough to get the water temp up to a comfortable level, at least not for me; perhaps my kiddos will brave the water?
I’m less than 3 weeks from the Tough Mudder event in Nashville on June 7th! I have no idea if I’m ready, but time marches on towards the event and I’ll just show up and make it happen. I definitely haven’t gotten in as much running as I would have liked to at this point, but I only have myself to blame for that… I have been keeping up with my Beachbody Classic training, which does incorporate some cardio throughout the week. I know that there is a difference between that and distance running training, so I’ll just have to do my best in 3 weeks.
How are you guys doing this week?
Are you moving closer to your goals or further away from them? There is no standing still, you are either moving in one direction or the other. If you feel yourself slipping a bit, now is the time to step things up!
10-Day Fitness and Nutrition Challenge
Would any of you be interested in participating in a 10-day nutrition and fitness challenge? I’ll provide a full menu for 10 days and you can pick and choose the meals you like from the menu, but there will also be daily fitness challenges and activities along the way. There’s no requirement, but if you would like to incorporate Shakeology into the menu (there will be some Shakeology recipes here as well), I have some samples that I can provide.
Most of you have a fitness programs already, so you can also swap in/out your daily workouts as necessary.
Here’s the catch: If you want to participate, you have to invite someone to join in this with you, who is not currently a YFP team member. This can be a friend, co-worker, relative, etc…
I am planning to kick this off on Wednesday, 5/28/2014, but I need for you to confirm your spot in the group this week!!! Email me back at: coachchris@yourfitnesspath.com
Drink Your Water People!
Did you know that you are probably dehydrated at this very moment? While you may not be suffering from severe dehydration, there’s a pretty good chance that you aren’t getting the amount of water that your body needs/craves throughout the day. You’ve hear this before; 8 glasses (8oz) of water everyday, that’s a total of 64 ounces. Think you are getting that much?
With summer on its way, the temps and the humidity levels are going up. This increasingly hot and dry weather means that you really need to keep yourself hydrated. Water is the best source of hydration, not soda, not tea, not sports drinks, etc.. but WATER!
Here are a few tips to help keep yourself hydrated this summer.
Hydration Tip #1:
Caffeinated beverages—such as coffee, soft drinks or energy drinks—cause your body to lose water. After you enjoy a dose of caffeine replace the lost water by drinking 2 times that amount in water.
Hydration Tip #2:
Add a slice of lemon to your water to spice things up.
Hydration Tip #3:
Always carry water with you throughout your day—keep a bottle in the car, at your workplace and next to your bed.
Hydration Tip #4:
Exercise and hot summer days both increase your body’s water requirements—make a mental note to drink before, during and after exercise or while out on a hot day.
Hydration Tip #5:
Make it a habit to begin your day with a large glass of water then drink a glass before each meal and one between meals.
Bonus Ab Routine
While I love the ab routines that are part of the P90X, P90X2 and P90X3 programs, I am always looking for some ways to mix things up a bit in the ab/core department. We all know that if were to stick with lifting the same weights in the gym every time, our bodies would hardly change. This is due to it adapting to that stimuli, hence the need for “muscle confusion”. By doing the same abdominal routine each time it soon becomes ineffective in helping to shape your abs.

A Reminder That Everyone Needs to Hear!
Here’s an update on my progress towards the Beachbody Classic in June.
As I finished today’s workout, I thought about my past 10 days and wanted to share my thoughts. I think that they are applicable to a lot of people, not just myself!
Check out the here: A Reminder That Everyone Needs to Hear
Lastly
I’m looking for a few select leaders this month to help us change the world. If you want to do something truly fulfilling while you’re working on your own health & fitness AND earning a nice side income, go here now…

Beachbody Coaching Opportunity
Let’s help others and pay it forward!
How many of you have/know someone that you think would benefit from being a part of this group? We all probably know SOMEONE that may be struggling with health and fitness.
Who do you know that has high cholesterol, blood pressure issues or blood sugar problems? Do you know someone that needs to lose weight, tone up or gain weight?
If you think you know someone, even if it is just one person, let me know and let’s get them plugged in. A little friendly competition is always beneficial to those involved.
Got a question?
I also wanted to make sure that everyone on my team is aware that I am here for YOU! If you have ANY questions related to health and fitness, don’t hesitate to contact me directly either on Facebook or via email (coachchris@yourfitnesspath.com). I am always willing to provide feedback and suggestions on ways that you can get the results that you are after.
And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc. It really helps me get more exposure and grow our team!
2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.yourfitnesspath.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
