Hey Team!
I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July holiday. Unfortunately, this year the 4th fell smack in the middle of the week, so only one day off from work for this guy…oh well, I’ll take it! I’m not sure about where you are, but wholly smokes, the weather is HOT and DRY around here! It’s beginning to look like the Arizona desert outside…
Last week I hit day 60 in my P90X2/Insanity Asylum hybrid and this week was recovery. Recovery weeks are bit of a love/hate relationship for me. I know my body needs the recovery time, but I am certainly less motivated to get up and just do stretching and foam rolling. At least until I am finished, by then I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Don’t neglect or discount the recovery weeks, they are there to re-energize your body, take advantage.
So, who has summer travel plans? Going anywhere exciting or fun? Later this month we are taking the older kiddos to an all-day marathon to King’s Island, an amusement park in Cincinnati. Both the kids and I are looking forward to it, both rides and water-park! If you have kids, make sure you try and expose them to LIFE! I was fortunate enough to have travelled quite a bit when I was a kid and I feel like getting my kids outside of the monotonous day-to-day is always a good thing. If you don’t have kids, do something yourself! Get out and experience new places and while you are there; BE THERE! This is something that I have to remind myself to do, even today… There is always something else at the back of my mind that takes some of my attention away from being in the moment. I’m getting better, still a work in progress.
Ultimate Reset Invite
You may have received an invite to join me in the Ultimate Reset that I plan to start on August 1st. If not, here is your invitation. I’ll be just ending my hybrid and think it will be a great time for a much need break. This will be a 3 week/21 day journey of NO WORKOUT, except for some dog walking…, and lots of high quality healthy eating. Actually by the 3rd week, it will be a completely vegetarian diet! I am a little concerned about that part of it, but after hearing about how others have fared with the program, I am very interested to see the results.
For me, I don’t expect a huge difference on the outside, but rather on the inside. I have scheduled a visit with my doctor to get all of the recommended blood work done both before and after the program, so that I can really get a good idea on how things like cholesterol (HDL & LDL), blood pressure and the various other metrics that will tested.

Chocolate Shakeology – New SuperFood Formula
At Summit, Beachbody announced some additional changes to the Chocolate Flavor of Shakeology. Separate from the Vegan Chocolate formula, the changes to the original are a good thing. I detailed those changed in a recent article.

Body Beast
Body Beast has been out for a couple of weeks now and I am starting to hear some feedback from those that have been sampling the routines. Just about everything that I am hearing to this point has been positive, everyone is excited about this new program. While I don’t have immediate plans to start this program, I will like consider it this fall.
