Hey Team!
How many of you have been watching the Olympics lately? I try to catch them when I can and when I do, I am always amazed at how those athletes can do what they do. How easy they make it look, it is pretty impressive!
What many people don’t think about is all of the time and energy that each of them has put in to make it to the Olympics. For many of the sports, this is really the only event that matters. If you don’t bring home a medal, you likely didn’t reach your goal.
How much would that suck? Bust your ass for 4 years; make it to the pinnacle of your sport only to come up short…
It is possible that an analogy could be made for many of you as it relates to health and fitness. Of course, the stakes aren’t as high and the duration of training not quite as long. However, it is possible that you may feel like you haven’t reached your goals once you have completed a particular program. You may think to yourself; “What have I been doing these past 60-90 days?” or “Why don’t I feel like I have changed or improved?”
I will be the first to tell you; YOU HAVE CHANGED! YOU HAVE IMPROVED!
Completing a 60 or 90 day program is an awesome accomplishment and you should be proud of getting to the end! Think back and recollect on the person you were before you started. Would you say you are the exact same person? I bet you wouldn’t! Your perceptions have changed, you see things differently and your own standards are higher than they previously were. You are more aware of what you put in your body and how it affects you.
I say this all the time and it is true; “I am my own worst critic.” Can you relate?
I set goals for myself each month, sometimes I meet them all, sometimes I don’t. I simply move them on to the next month’s list of goals and keep working toward accomplishing them.
You need to do the same! Just because you don’t reach a goal the first time you try, doesn’t mean you have failed. Failure is giving up on those goals. DO NOT GIVE UP! Set your goals high and you will be surprised at what you can accomplish.
Blog Article
I finally posted my review and results from my P90X/Asylum hybrid. Overall I was very happy with how this hybrid worked out. The schedule and new routines definitely challenged me the entire 90 days. I really feel that the challenge group that I was a part of was really beneficial to my results.
Here is the intro to the article:
“While this final phase was only 3 weeks in length, it was killer! My lower body was put to the test. The first week of this phase was especially brutal and my legs just felt dead for nearly a week. 3 routines from the Asylum and 3 routines from P90X2.”
