Hey Team!
Brrrrrrrrr! Man it was COLD this week! While I don’t workout in my garage during the winter months, it has been down right frigid around here. How’s everyone doing, still moving towards your goals for 2013? I AM! The first week of the BULK phase of my 2nd round of Body Beast is in the books and I’m pretty pleased with where I am at this point. Adjusting my nutrition a little this week to see how my body responds. I’m not following the programs guides as closely this time around since I am really only looking to gain 7-8 lbs and I would rather not have any gain on body fat % if possible. This week will be the 30-day mark, so I’ll post my numbers once I have them.
A member of our Challenge Group brought up the following question this week: “I notice you all work out in the a.m. I do my workouts at night… Will I see the same results?”
A great question!
Consider the following:
1 Day = 24 hours
The average duration of a workout: 1 hour
24 hrs – 1 hr = 23 hrs.
Here’s the bottom line: You spend more time NOT working out then you will ever spend busting your ass during the week with your workouts.
Your results are a direct reflection of what you do before AND after your workouts, not the time of day you workout. Your personal schedule simply dictates the best time of day that you are able to get your workout done. If you are not doing what it takes the rest of the day, your efforts during that 1 aren’t going to be maximized. I have heard SO MANY people live by: “Workout to Eat”. They probably don’t realize that this is what they saying, but when you justify the junk you allow yourself to eat simply because you “showed” up for your workout that day; that just doesn’t cut it! “Eat to Workout” should be your mindset. Fueling your body in order to ensure that you CAN give it everything you’ve got for your next workout!
I know it sucks, but you HAVE to focus on the end goal that you have for yourself. Does that mean I eat 100% clean, 100% of the time. No, not at all. This isn’t the problem. The problem is that many people use this as their reward or fallback and it becomes the norm, instead of the exception.
COMMIT – at least for the duration of the program that you are embarking on! 60 or 90 days isn’t that long, you can do it! The “you” that is waiting for you at the end will be the ultimate reward.
