This weekend I got to experience something new. I attended the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, OH. I mainly went to attend the Expo, which is where many of the biggest names in the health and fitness gather to drum up their products and meet with their customers, people like you and me. Beachbody event had a sizable booth at the event! I was a bit disappointed that they did not have some more apparel to choose from, I was looking to buy a Body Beast T-shirt. Oh well. Of course, this event is not just about the Expo, there are many, many other sporting events that are all going on the entire weekend. Events from bodybuilding to fencing, really…A LOT of events, it is almost like a mini Olympics right here in the Midwest.

I really had no idea the magnitude of this event and just how close to home it had been taking place for over 25 years. The event website (http://www.arnoldsportsfestival.com), indicated that over 175,000 fans were expected to attend over the course of 3 days.

It felt like there was just that many people at the Expo, which was held at the Convention Center of Columbus. They have either outgrown the venue or crammed way too man vendors into this facility, it was VERY congested the entire day and basically; “walk 5 feet, wait, walk 5 more, wait some more”. That kind of took the fun out of trying to see everything, but I still had a good time and a great experience nonetheless. If you want to get some motivation about how much better you can possibly be, you will find it at this event. While I don’t have any plans to get to the level that some of these athletes were at, it certainly puts some perspective on how much they have had to work to get into the shape that they were in. Very inspiring!
