Two weeks from today, August 1st, I will start my Ultimate “Reset Cleanse”! The Ultimate Reset is a 21 day cleanse that relies on healthy eating to help you lose weight and lower blood pressure and cholesterol. There are no workouts during this program, which will be quite a bit different for me. I have been reading through all of the literature that accompanies the program along with watching the DVDs that provide a lot of detailed information that is helpful to participants.
Participants also get access to a portal that allows you to see exactly what is in front of you with respect to meals and supplements. Support and accountability groups for each phase are also made available to participants and offer you the ability to communicate with others going through the program to ask questions and get feedback.
Phase 1 – Reclaim
The first phase of the program is all about reclaiming your body, accessing its inner chemistry and preparing for change.
What is the Beachbody Ultimate Reset?
It’s a comprehensive, no-starvation, inner body tune-up. In just 21 days, the Ultimate Reset can help you gently restore your body to its original “factory settings,” to help you:

What the Beachbody Ultimate Reset is NOT!
• A starvation diet. (You’ll eat three filling, healthy meals every day.)

• A laxative-based, colon-focused cleanse, which fails to truly detoxify the whole body. (You won’t be running to the bathroom every hour!)
Ultimate Reset Supplements
Mineralize – Adds natural minerals needed by the body. Natural Himalayan salt includes up to 84 minerals and trace elements, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, and iron. Natural salt can help restore the essential minerals that are vital to your life processes, including building strong bones, enabling nervous system function, aiding in the absorption of nutrients through the digestive tract, and even helping to prevent muscle cramps.
Oxygenize – Helps provide supplemental oxygen to the body. Oxygen helps your body detoxify and supports a strong immune system.

Ultimate Reset Schedule
The daily schedule for the reset remains pretty much the same throughout, but I thought I would details what a day in the first week looks like in the Reclaim phase.
Morning
• 12-32 oz of distilled water ( a pinch Mineralize supplement ) + 10-15 drops of Oxygenize supplement + 2 caps of Optimize supplement.
• Wait 30 minutes
• Breakfast
• Wait at least 2 hours
Afternoon
• 12-32 oz of distilled water ( a pinch Mineralize supplement ) + 10-15 drops of Oxygenize supplement + 2 caps of Optimize supplement.
• Wait 30 minutes
• Lunch
• Wait at least 2 hours
• 12-32 oz of distilled water ( a pinch Mineralize supplement ) + 1 packet of Alkalinize supplement.
• Wait 30 minutes
• Snack (Optional)
• Wait at least 2 hours
Evening
• 12-32 oz of distilled water ( a pinch Mineralize supplement ) + 10-15 drops of Oxygenize supplement + 2 caps of Optimize supplement.
• Wait 30 minutes
• Dinner
Ultimate Reset Meals
The first week of meals might not look too drastically different than what I might eat during my normal week. During the first phase, the program gradually starts to eliminate animal proteins and replace them with plant-based proteins in phase 2 and completely eliminated in phase 3.
Here is a quick look at some of the meals planned for the first week.
Breakfast
2 slices whole-grain toast, 2 scrambled eggs
1 cup cooked oatmeal with 1 cup fresh blueberries and ½ cup organic plain yogurt
Fresh fruit plate with whatever’s seasonal and fresh in your area
1 slice whole-grain toast, Baked Tempeh , ⅛ sliced avocado, ½ cup steamed spinach or kale.
Lunch
Greek Salad (with chicken breast and toasted pine nuts) and Greek Dressing.
1 serving Zucchini-Cashew Soup, Microgreen Salad, ¼ sliced avocado
Quinoa Salad, Microgreen Salad, and 1 serving dressing
Quinoa Salad, ½ cup hummus, raw vegetable plate
Nori Rolls with Tempeh and Veggies, Lentil Lime Salad, Microgreen Salad(omit toasted seeds/nuts), and dressing of choice
Dinner
1 serving Baked Salmon, 1 cup steamed asparagus with lemon
Black Beans and Rice, ¼ cup fresh corn, 2 Tbsp. salsa, ¼ cup guacamole, 1 6-inch corn tortilla
Nori Rolls with Tempeh and Veggies, Japanese Cucumber Salad, Miso Soup.
Stir-Fried Veggies, Cucumber and Tomato Salad, ¾ cup Quinoa
Miso Soup, Stir-Fried Veggies, ½ cup cooked brown rice
1 serving Baked Tempeh, 1 serving any steamed vegetables, and 1 servingBrown Rice
Summary
I am really excited about getting started with my Ultimate “Reset Cleanse” and curious to see what kind of impact it will have on me both physically (inside and outside) and emotionally. I’ve heard that many people tend to cranky, tired and irritable during the first phase, but I think that a lot of those people may be trying to break habits that I don’t currently deal with. Things like soda, coffee and other junk food high in sugar.
I have my blood work setup for the Monday before I start and then again on the Monday after I finish. In case any of you are interested in which blood work should be done it is the Complete Blood Count (CBC) /SMAC 24. I checked with my insurance provider and all of these test are included at no cost to me…BONUS! For guys, you may also want to have your testosterone levels checked as well. The testosterone test was not covered by my insurance, so I’ll have to fork over the $70 for that one…Oh well.
